Follow these guidelines:

Inspection: Check your air filter every 5,000 miles.

Cleaning: Clean the filter at 10,000 miles.

Procedure: Tap the filter to dislodge debris, brush off loose particles, and then clean it with a mild solution (such as Simple Green) and water. Rinse thoroughly, shake off excess water, and let it air dry completely.
